Details
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.4) Gecko/20010913
BuildID: 2001091303
If I reboot my computer, or even just logoff, my preferences in Mozilla will
revert to their default values. My email will be lost because the account is no
longer set up. This started occuring when I installed 0.9.3 and is still evident
when using 0.9.4. I have the following programs running at the same time Mozilla
is running:
PC-Cillin
United Devices
CacheMan
Miranda ICQ
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Mozilla
2. Set up preferences to your liking
3. Reboot, or logoff
4. Log back on
5. Start Mozilla
6. Look how the preferences are back to the default values (!@#$!@)
7. Try to check email, but don't have an account any more (!$@#$)
8. Restart at #2, and copy your old inbox file over the new one.
Actual Results: I think you know what it does.
Expected Results: It should have saved my preferences and email acount info,
but it didn't. The crazy thing is that if I close Mozilla and then open it
again, with out rebooting or logging off, my prefs are still fine.
My Master password still contains all the passwords. They are not lost.

Reporter: are you connected to some kind of network domain?

Reporter, any other conditions that might be affecting this? Without more
knowledge of your system conditions it is hard to guess why this is happening.
Any windows registry settings to delete files on reboot? Any possible
connection with the location of your prefs.js?
Sairuh,
Does this work for you?

Reporter, it would be very helpful if you could isolate between which two builds
this started happening for you. You can find old nightlies at:

David Illsley: I am not on a Network Domain. I am connected to the internet
through ADSL, which does not have a static IP.
Samir Gehani: I do not have any type of setting that delete files on reboot.
Both my prefs.js and prefs.pc8 are located in "/Documents and
Settings/d-cibel/application data/mozilla/profiles/default/6psm7uvh.slt/"
It started occuring between whatever build 0.9.2 and 0.9.3 were. I'm thinking
right now that it might have something to do with my Antivirus software. I am
going to disable it and see if I still have the same problem. I also might add
that when I check my email before it messes up, the following settings are
incorrect, yet I still get my email:
username: dcibel@zworg.com
server: localhost
The settings should be:
username: dcibel
server: zworg.com

Sorry, that should have been dcibel/zworg.com, not dcibel@zworg.com

I am pretty sure now that the bug is a conflict with my Antivirus Software
(PC-Cillin). I have disabled the software, and my preferences have not messed up
yet today, although my username and password for my email did change as stated
above. That's no biggie for me though, I can still get my email.
