Lately, I've been noticing that sometimes when I open Nightly and visit a website, a "Download Started..." toast appears, even when I know this url isn't downloading anything. It's a bit unnerving to see, and no one else on the mobile team seems to be noticing it.

My hunch is that it is something our Home Feeds add-on might be doing in the background? Can we investigate this to see what's happening? I'd like to avoid showing this toast if we can -- I can see more privacy concerned users than myself getting pretty upset about it.

As an update here, ibarlow said that he was still seeing this without the home feeds add-on (and I myself haven't seen this with the home feeds add-on), so it sounds like something else is going wrong here.

We should try to get a log the next time this happens.

This is from Downloads.jsm. James has a patch somewhere for it, but if I don't see it soon (this week?) I'll grab these bugs and start finishing them.

Fixed by backout. Tracking for our next pass at Downloads.jsm, but these are cluttering up my list of bugs.
