Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Firefox home page.
2. Click on the search box.
3. Type something and click on the 'Search' button.
4. Restart Firefox and try again.
Actual results:
The search did not carry out.
Expected results:
A search should have been carried out by Firefox.
Seems like a dupe of bug 1005200.

This problem was resolved once i re-installed Firefox.

For future references, you can use Firefox in Safe Mode (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode) or new profiles (http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles#w_starting-the-profile-manager), instead of reinstalling.

Well, my problem too was similar to the bug. But, i experienced it on Windows 7,not Windows 8.I think we can change the status to resolved.
