From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:0.9.4+) Gecko/20010913 Netscape6/6.1b1 BuildID: 2001091308 can not delete single cell within a talble. If will delete the contents within cell or the formating of the cell, but not the actual cell. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Insert table: 3 columns, 3 rows 2. Place cursor into any cell. 3. From menu choose table > select > cell 4. From menu choose Table >delete >cell (or hit delete key on keyboard) Actual Results: Content with in the cell is deleted, cut the cell remains. Expected Results: I would expect that the entire cell would be removed. As well as a diaglog box asking if you wanted the remaining cells of that row or column to be adjusted. I verified this with the composer/ table editing preference set to delete entire cell as well as unchecking the "maintain table layou..." It does not seem to matter if it is checked or not.
related: bug 95633
Confirmed using Mac/2001092010.
Bug #95633 covers the preference not working; this bug should cover the menu selection of Table | Delect | Cell not working. -->cmanske
If the preference "Maintain table layout..." is unchecked, and the radio button "Removes the entire cell" is checked, then the cell is completely deleted when you use "Table | Delete | Cell(2)" menuitem. Note that the delete key never deletes the entire cell. The pref wording is incorrect (see bug 95633)
