I use a lot of tabs; each tab name is a truncated version of the page title that appears at the top of the FireFox window. With too many tabs, however, the names get truncated to the point where they don't say much. Or worse, the tabs may contain the same information but the page titles may all start with the same words. I'd like to have the option to assign a tab label when I create a bookmark. When the page pulls up, its title will appear as usual at the top of the FireFox window. But if I've assigned a tab-label to the bookmark, I want the tab to have the assigned label instead of the truncated page title.
An option that would be just as good for me, would be to label the tab with the "Name" field of the bookmark instead of the page title. By default, the page title is used as the Name field when you create the bookmark. When I manage my bookmarks, however, I usually assign a more compact Name to each bookmark that makes it easier to navigate my bookmark-menu hierarchy. These more compact names would make better labels for the tabs as well.
