Outline is here! https://docs.google.com/a/mozilla.com/document/d/1zpU6wtF9cZ0MpUhNu2KbYIizIeHEePauRlgJSzR1XSc/edit Waiting on one or two minor details, but for the most part, it's ready for copy. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
Thanks Jess. I'll do my best to hit the 22nd, but with Monday being a holiday up here I may not have a draft ready until the 23rd. Hope that works. - Troy
Sure thing. The earlier/closer to the 22nd, the better as we'll need to review and have edits for you by EOD on the 23rd. This way we stay on track with both CA holiday on Monday and US holiday on 26th. Thanks Troy! And enjoy your holiday! Jess
Hey Jess, just a suggestion, but for the featured themes, would you be interested in showing off our flag collection? (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/collections/mozilla/flags/) Would be pretty timely with regards to World Cup. Also not sure if we usually feature mobile add-ons there, but this would be a great place to promote the Goal.com add-on for Android. No worries if you think that's too much but I thought I'd suggest.
To complicate things further, I'm on PTO next week. Troy, please send your draft to John when it's ready for review. Thanks.
(In reply to Matej Novak [:matej] from comment #6) Will do. Thanks, Matej. Enjoy your time off.
Hey everyone Here is the link to my draft of the June newsletter. Looking forward to your comments and feedback. Let me know if there are any questions in the meantime. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lseqOcpMFrrPxZjjY5_WshldGnfG8AW7WgTZWlb3uso/edit?usp=sharing Thanks, Troy
Thanks, Troy. I made a few really minor tweaks and left one comment, but otherwise it looks great.
Thanks Matej.
Thanks Troy! I just read through and left a bit of comments. The main thing is that the writing itself looks good (as Matej said, the copy looks great) - but we have some challenges to make sure that 1) all the different versions work (RU doesn't have a World Cup Story) and 2) the text isn't too similar/the same as past newsletters or one-offs. While we're talking about new story angles this month, we've talked about very similar, if not the same things very recently to this audience. Please take a look and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again Troy!
Thanks Jess. I'll get started on the revisions tomorrow morning and aim to get everything wrapped up by end of day, if that works for you. - Troy
Perfect - thanks Troy!
(In reply to Troy Palmer from comment #12) > Thanks Jess. > > I'll get started on the revisions tomorrow morning and aim to get everything > wrapped up by end of day, if that works for you. Thanks, Troy. Please let us know if you need clarification on anything or if you'd like me to read anything over when you're done.
(In reply to Matej Novak [:matej] from comment #14) Thanks, Matej. I think it was all pretty straight forward. I've addressed the comments if you want to have a look.
(In reply to Troy Palmer from comment #15) > (In reply to Matej Novak [:matej] from comment #14) > > Thanks, Matej. I think it was all pretty straight forward. I've addressed > the comments if you want to have a look. Looks great. Just a couple of comments from me. Thanks.
Troy - you rock. Thanks for tackling this head-on. I think we're in the home stretch! Next/final edits: - RU intro headline & copy needs a different angle than the "Live what you love" - it angle doesn't quite fit here to me with the stories we have this month. - World Cup slight rework. It feels weird having the same format and CTAs, and very similar copy. Can you take a stab at consolidating the different CTAs into a paragraph (or maybe even short bullets)? I fear that our readers will look at the layout and see the CTAs for this story and be annoyed that they just saw this same content. I put an example in there of my idea as a basis (warning: I'm not a writer and it needs some creative love). The Marketplace only story for PL & HU looks good, but we need a new CTA language so that it's not the exact same CTA they saw in the one-off a week prior. - Web We Want - I love the new angle you put on it! I just added some more meat with the 2nd top voted item and cut some copy to make the CTA stand out more. Please take a look and see if that looks good to you. Please let me know if you have any questions. If we can get this finalized by mid-day EDT tomorrow, we'll be in great l10n shape. Thank you.
Thanks Jess. I'll have a look shortly — timing shouldn't be a problem.
Hey Jess I've added some new copy + headlines for RU intro. I like what you did for the Web We Want story, so I left that as is. Let me know if there's anything else. Thanks, Troy
Hey Troy, I love the new RU intro and headline! I'm happy you like the Web We Want edits. Can you take a stab at the World Cup reconfig? I left comments in the doc and there's more context for it in #c17 too. I apologize for all these last min edits. Thank you for tackling them. Jess
Hey No problem. There was a comment in the doc about having an update soon so I wasn't quite sure what the status of it was. I'll get that done as soon as I can.
Thanks Troy. You = the best.
Hey Jess I did a small update on your copy for the World Cup story — it's actually pretty close to an earlier version that I had kicking around. Let me know what you think.
This works for me, thanks Troy! Jess is the latest WC story version ok with you too?

Thanks Troy! This is fantastic! Last 2 gut-check comments from Me + Michaela (the new Winston) then as long as you & Matej are good, we can close this out. Thanks team!
Last comment standing - Troy/Matej can you take a look? I want to get this to teams today please. Thanks!

Oh noes! I just saw that the Firefox OS apps were missing from the copy (they were in the outline). Troy/Matej, can one of you tackle the copy quickly :D

Hey Jess Sorry about that — I've taken a stab at the copy. Let me know what you think. FYI, the apps weren't in the outline that I downloaded. Were they added after the outline was first posted?
Thanks Troy! The Apps were added to the outline on the 16th at 5pm EDT (2pm PDT) about 2 hours after I left the comment #2 about some things still missing but should be in there soon. I didn't realize that you downloaded the outline. I apologize! This looks good!
No worries — I probably should have checked back after I downloaded it. Glad we were able to get it done quickly.
Me too - thank you! :)
