Firefox 28.0 on my Ubuntu 12.10 desktop crashes on shutdown somewhere between 25% and 50% of the time. After shutdown, there will be a single hung Firefox process, often gobbling up large amounts of CPU until I do a Kill -9: (from Top) 28437 josh 20 0 1542m 523m 21m S 199.7 13.6 70:36.22 firefox This seems to be more likely to happen if FF has been involved in any high-memory operations like video. This did not happen with 27.0 AFAIK.
Firefox 28 is old. The current stable version is Firefox 29. Please update and see how that goes first.
