Moving the template design and build into this bug, separate from the IA one.

Fuzzy, I'm flagging myself for review here so I don't lose this on my Dashboard, but feel free to flag me or Kate for review in the future.

OK, let's use this bug to get the Webmaker whitepaper out of the door quickly.

I suggest the following:

1. ASAP: Fuzzy implements the changes suggested here: https://redpen.io/bd158e0b3992e0be49

2. By Friday 16th May: any changes to the text happen on the wiki page: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Webmaker/Whitepaper

3. Early W/B 19th May: Fuzzy makes final changes to text on HTML version

4. Middle W/B 19th May: Cassie does design review

5. ASAP after that: publish v1.0 (via Mozilla GitHub repo)

----

6. Once Webmaker Training/Badges/whatever's finished, we circle back to annotate the bibliography as a linked page.

----

Sound like a plan? :-)

Fuzzy, do you have everything you need to action the above?
Flags: needinfo?(williamd)
More or less, timings are probably out by a week considering I missed this.

As for making the changes it'll be easier for me to do it all in one hit. So can I get confirmation that the copy for the paper is frozen now. Once I have that I'll be able to plan this into the rest of my hacking for the week and get it churned out by the end of next I think.

My apologies, I missed the timeline too. I will make my minor copy changes to the wiki today and update here when done.
My (minor) changes are in the wiki. I also started an etherpad for the annotated bibliography. https://etherpad.mozilla.org/annotationsWP
Thanks Karen and Fuzzy :-)

Fuzzy the redpen expired on this design. Can you reupload it? I just added you and doug as redpen team members since we have a paid account now, so expirations should no longer be an issue.

Hey Cassie,

I can still see the redpen at: https://redpen.io/bd158e0b3992e0be49

Thanks Fuzzy, have added some comments. Definitely better than before, but just a few tweaks still needed.

Left comments in redpen. Some nitpicky things, but main thing is to figure out that nav bar.

Hey Fuzzy, how are we doing on this?

Whiteboard: [webliteracy] → [4sept14] [weblitpathways]
Getting there.

https://fuzzyfox.github.io/webmaker-whitepaper/ is as ever the most recent version, almost all the required tweaks from https://redpen.io/jyde934c3c0467f9b5 have been made w/ the exception of the navigation which is now the only blocker on this. Aim to get that solved tomorrow for a final review before greenlight and transfer of repo to mozilla on github.

Would like to maker this bug resolved fixed if there are not more issues to address for initial release.
Fuzzy can you flag me for a final review? I'll get to it early next week (traveling a bit, so probably Tues)

Cassie I indeed I can ;)

Works for me! I guess the only thing I'd flag is a way to get back to Webmaker from that page (given that it'll be hosted via the Mozilla GitHub.io?
Clicking the webmaker logo should do the job... if something more obvious is needed that shouldn't be too hard to add in.
This looks good to me!

Hmmm... I'll leave Cassie to advise on that. ;-)
* This looks great -- don't need Cassie to weigh in. Just spoke to her and she's cool with pushing ahead.

* Marking resolved

* doug / fuzzy: re-open if there's still work needed here? just wanted to clear any blockers cuz I know Doug's been waiting to clear this one for a while
The only work that needs happening is deploying the thing somewhere now, but that's another bug ;) Will transfer the repo to mozilla now though :P

Looks really great! R+ with a few tiny "last 2%" kinds of tweaks. Great work, Fuzzy!

I think Fuzzy said that was a placeholder photo, so here's some suggestions for a replacement:

1. https://www.flickr.com/photos/mozillaeu/12744285363/
2. https://www.flickr.com/photos/bisgeier/9660910439
3. https://www.flickr.com/photos/cycloidsystem/9695475110
4. https://www.flickr.com/photos/dougbelshaw/8604700787

They'd need cropping, but does anyone have a strong preference?
I personally think a teaching moment would be best in this slot, hence the quick grab for the placeholder.
Reasons *not* to go with the placeholder:

* All white people
* All kids
* No 'action' in the shot

...but don't want to be a blocker. Let's ship this thing.
Not suggesting we keep the placeholder either ;P Just that style of photo
I just wanted to flag that having the URL for this on GitHub by June 25th next week will help me make the submission to the MIT Press Civic Media Reader before I go on vacation. The Press needs to be able to reference that we have the text from the white paper under Creative Commons.

Most of you don't know about the Civic Media Reader but its bug was here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1012608
Flags: needinfo?(williamd)
Karen, you could file a new bug to submit to the reader, and make this a blocking bug :) bugzillafoo!
Karen, it looks like Fuzzy pushed this to the Mozilla GitHub repository before he went on PTO. There's still some tweaks to be made, but I think it's safe to reference this:

https://mozilla.github.io/webmaker-whitepaper/

I'm planning on making small text tweaks and adding the annotated bibliography this week. :-)
OK, so no time like the present: https://dajbelshaw.github.io/webmaker-whitepaper/

Changes:
* Altered header image to #4 in Comment 30
* Increased font size of body text 16px (and headers proportionally)
* Added max-width to Web Literacy Map image
* Added images for Webmaker mentors (and box around)
* Added annotations to bibliography
* Added Creative Commons license to footer
Thanks for the update Doug. Will reference
https://mozilla.github.io/webmaker-whitepaper/ knowing updates are forthcoming.

I've reviewed and don't see any further tweaks that are required. Looks good!
I found a mistake. X-Ray goggles is described to show both HTML + CSS and I don't think this is factually correct based on my goggles usage. The Goggles description text reads:

"It shows the underlying HyperText Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) of the web page being visited."

We probably want to take out reference to CSS for goggles to make the text read:

"It shows the underlying HyperText Markup Language (HTML) of the web page being visited."
Hi Karen, you *can* actually edit (inline) CSS using X-Ray Goggles. For example, try the following:

1. Activate X-Ray Goggles
2. Click on an image
3. Add style="border:10px yellow solid;" within the <img> tag
4. Click 'Save Changes'

:-)
Good to know! Thanks Doug.
Closed after work with Fuzzy.
