It's using 1.6.0 when it should be using 2.0.0-rc17 I the out of date version is causing some API compatibility issues: "[SyntaxError: Unexpected token <]" before sending it's first email. It hangs for about 30 seconds before logging that. subsequent emails work.
It appears that this isn't aws-sdk at all, but the premailer service that is inlining the template CSS. The API is showing some instability.
that said, an update couldn't hurt.
