Details

The main Rutgers news server, news-nb.rutgers.edu, requires users from off
campus to login with a username and password. With other news readers it is
possible to configure them so that they do a login after connecting. I have been
unable to find any way to get Mozilla's news reader to do this successfully. It
can apparently respond to a request from the news server to login, but our news
server doesn't do this. It expects the news reader to issue the authinfo command.
Bug 39862 was verified FIXED, but there is no UI for it yet (have to edit your
prefs).
