Android has a kernel patch that allows giving anonymous memory regions names that appear in /proc/N/maps, which they've already shipped for at least Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 (KitKat builds). We think it would be useful for Gecko (bug 1011350), but development is impaired by limited availability of the feature on B2G devices. Once we can build Flame boot images, we can apply the patch there.
Can you check if this is being shipped in https://www.codeaurora.org/cgit/quic/la/kernel/msm/log/?h=b2g_kk_3.5 ? This is what's being shipped for CAF based KK devices.

Good point. It's not there; CAF forked KK from AOSP before that patch. I can file a bug to ask for it to be crossported.
