I was showing the network inspector to a friend and he asked me: what does each color mean? I couldn't explain, what a shame. I can only *guess* but that's not how it should work :-)

Isn't there a status code right next to the status color ? Or.. If you mean the colors in the Timeline bars, then you can go to the timings tab (after clicking any entry) to see the meaning ..

Hey Optimizer, I added that attachment demonstrating what I see. There's no way to figure out what each colour represents. In Chrome a little pop up shows up when you hover each of the bars and tells you the length of each blocking / sending / waiting / receiving events, which I *guess* is what you want to represent here, but I am not sure if my guess is accurate. You're asking me to click on each individual request *and* then click on the timings tab. That's two extra clicks when I could have it on *hover* :-)

So, I think there is a bug for that hover thingy, but for now, click on any of those rows, a sidebar will open up, it will have many tabs, the Timings tab will show you the meaning of the colors.
