Details

We've been getting a few requests lately about the format and content of our release notes. While we're still in the middle of getting all the release notes that used to be static HTML served from SVN to be dynamically published from Bedrock (bug 939984) we don't have the resources to go deep on improvements so this bug is the placeholder and tracker for upcoming work based on the following:

* Having an RSS feed that release information can be published to (at the moment of release) with version number, date, and notes
* Having the information for a release be clearly marked as for the current version (matching URL) and, if a dot release, include the additional fixes for the main version but separately
* Being able to include screenshots and sometimes video in the notes for marketing pushes
* Cross-checks with MDN developer-focused notes (perhaps not duplicating information)
* Easier to find the information about all the bugs fixed between current notes version and previous, system requirements (and if they have changed we could perhaps indicate this)
* we might want to have banner(s) or other tie-ins with current marketing strategies to help point people to things like Firefox Accounts, promoting other release channels, or encouraging people to try and install Mobile (if on the Desktop notes page)
