Indeed, I did not see this problem under Netscape 6.1 or Mozilla 0.9.3, but 0.9.4 and onward have exhibited this problem. It's a behavior that I have seen under Netscape 4.7x at times, but Mozilla builds pre-0.9.4 seem to be fine (at least as far back as I can remember).

Wow! I just downloaded the latest 0.9.4 branch build, and the lags on all pages are gone! The background on the mentioned page paints just fine. Unfortunately, every time I type a space it jumps to the bottom of the page. Very annoying -- is there a bug on that?

With Mozilla (Mac OS 9.2.1) I do not see the lag I saw on the September builds (and the text input jumping is gone as well). However, on MANY sites popup windows fail to show up -- including the one that shows the clips for the un-aired episode of this television show. The window's titles will show up in the Tasks menu, but I can't get the windows themselves to show up no matter what way I try. I haven't set any preferences to hide popups, but it could be that my use of a Netscape 6.1 profile could be triggering some kind of adverse reaction. I'll try with a clean profile and report back. (I checked a few days ago to see if there had been a bug filed on this, but I couldn't find one.)

Filed bug 107471 on the popup problem. As far as this bug goes, if the reporter no longer sees it, I think it's bedtime.
