User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140524004002 Expected results: I should be able to call an API to flash the taskbar. This is that highlight of the taskbar icon in Windows, or the bounce of the dock icon in OSX (not 100% sure on the visuals of it tbh) I believe node-webkit has this functionality, and it's pretty essential for the less intrusive style of notifications (I don't always want to display text). Right now, I'm using favicon changes to do such a notification, but this isn't possible with an webapp installed on the desktop

Per bug 1238079, we're going to disable the desktop web runtime and remove it from the codebase, so we won't fix these bugs in the integration between Firefox and the runtime.
