Details

One of our challenges in multiple availability zones with only one server per zone is when we lose a server, we often encounter application downtime. A feature is available for our load balancers which enables cross-AZ balancing, meaning that if we lose a node, the other nodes in different AZ's will be able to respond, even as we only have 1 server per AZ. I need to apply this setting to each ELB, and add it to our build scripts.
All ELB's now have this set, using this script elb-modify-lb-attributes $1 --crosszoneloadbalancing "enabled=true"
