Steps to reproduce:

used google with lots of keywords. being very slow today.

this is not consistent



Actual results:

whole browser went white, could not hit the stop button because it has been removed from firefox. 


Expected results:

please bring stop button back. I need this, sometimes pages just get too long to load or I make a mistake and I need to fix it bu hitting stop. don't take away my choices.

You should can see the stop button at the position of reload button when loading (Bug 343396), and you can press Esc key. any block?

no stop button, only reload.

I don't understand, the stop button still exists in Fx29 and later.
provide a screenshot might help determine the problem.

it exists, but it shows only when it's enabled. if the browser is locked up on a page, it doesn't show *first*. I would really like it if it were enabled all the time so I could click on it. I didn't like this new wave of minimalism that is sweeping browsers to make them all look the same. 

one of the reasons I chose ff as my main browser was because of its full set of features. if I need to hit the stop button, I need to hit it *now* - I don't want to have to go on a search to find it, and then find out it's not there. the days of too-little screen real estate are long gone, so merging buttons is no longer necessary, and it's a little counter-productive since it takes human beings time to parse the screen content when something isn't there.  then you have to wait for the button to change etc.

if I wanted minimimalism, I can always go get Chrome.

I don't know if I can reproduce. will try.
google was being really slow that day to load data or something.
page would not finish loading.
cannot reproduce. I tried an infinite recursion script and a forever while script, this did not lock up the browser (which is good, I can debug my pages now).
I have no idea what caused it. google bug?
google page seems to work now.

it looked like the stop button does not get enabled until (maybe?) the page gets completely loaded. I need it to be either be there and enabled all the time or enabled (at least) when a page has started to download (even if not 100%). the stop button should immediately stop the page (and related resources) download as well as stop scripts on a page.

the new stop button code seems buggy.

something that might reproduce it is a server-side script which maybe
- doesn't finish uploading its data to browser AJAX script?
- locks up with forever while after displaying some content?

This is the Bug (whole ui goes white waiting for page, no stop button)which you araised, i checked it in WIN 7 32 bit version.... i understood your step to reproduce.....and tried with MOZILLA 29.0 version ....
what you posted in COMMENT 0 link i checked out by typing in google search....some time due to large number of keywords it has loading web pages very slow but white page for this particular link you have mentioned  is working fine and sometime stop button is not visible while the network is too slow and when white page displays 

example : if suppose typing an url in search .. web pages shows sometime 404 error like that ..... at that time i checked in version MOZILLA 29.0 it is not showing STOP button on toolbar while white page displaying
