Details
From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.4) Gecko/20010920 BuildID: 0.9.4 The browser gets halfway through scrolling and then completely locks up. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start up moz. 2. Go to that URL. 3. Spin the wheel down. Actual Results: Mozilla gets down to a table near the bottom and dies horribly. Expected Results: Mozilla scrolls smoothly down to the bottom of the page. I've seen this bug happen on a variety of web sites; it just so happens that Apple's was bookmarked and easy to reproduce on. I've also seen it for a long time, since 0.9, I think.

Further data: I cannot confirm this bug using this URL on my 0.9.4 installation on my PowerMac laptop, which also runs Linux.

Still further data: creating a new profile does not fix the bug on my desktop workstation (Intel based).

A virgin install of build 2001092508 has no trouble using the Classic skin, but bites it just the same when using the Modern skin.

I guess I'd have to ask to see if you've done any experimenting on changing mice and drivers first?

I have changed mice (from a Logitech trackball to a Logitech mouse) very recently, and the problem didn't go away. As for drivers, this is Linux; so the X server will send button 4 and button 5 information to Mozilla, which is pretty much the extent of how mouse wheels work--there aren't really any drivers to change out.

So we know this is something coming from Moz's mousewheel handling. Maybe this could be related to bug 105880 ?

No problems with 0.9.5 and 2001102909 under linux, using modern skin.

There appear to be some issues with the 20011111506 build, at least on my Mac. In 0.9.5 on a Mac G4/350 with 10.1.1, 0.9.5 is rock solid with the scroll wheel and the modern theme. But running the new nightly, most attempts with the scroll wheel on the same machine lead to an instant browser quit. -rob.

Nobody can reproduce this, the reporters build is hopelessly outdated, I'm resolving this as WORKSFORME. If you can reproduce this on 0.9.6 or a nightly, feel free to reopen.
