User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140506152807

Steps to reproduce:

open
http://www.jstor.org/action/showJournals?browseType=titleInfoPage&#L

Actual results:

lag/freeze

Expected results:

since it is a very simple page, without flash....
FF29 should be able toopen and load this page without problems.
thanks.
(this happens with Linux too!)
No problems, loads and renders in less than a second with FF29 on Fedora 20.

Does the problem still happen if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? (Safe Mode disables extensions and themes, hardware acceleration and some JavaScript stuff in order to exclude some possible reasons for problems. It does not disable plugins which are add-ons.) See http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

And does this also happen with a new and empty profile? See http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile and http://support.mozilla.org/kb/Managing%20profiles
Flags: needinfo?(banakon)
Tried with a new profile
FF 29: loadtime 1 minute and 25 seconds
(page = 200MB)
Better with FF32: one minute
(OS 3,25GB ram)
Konqueror: 45 seconds.

on Windows?
Are you logged in on that page?

No idea what comment 4 means.

Question about safe mode still unanswered.
Flags: needinfo?(banakon)
1) I am logged.

2) comment 4 means: did you try it on Windows too?

3) the same issue.
Flags: needinfo?(banakon)
1) unlogged: 40 seconds inclusive Freeze.
1) RE-opening tha page unlogged: 25 seconds, with *fast* no freeze.
I cannot try on Windows because I have no Windows.

As you mentioned in comment 3 that your Konqueror also takes ages, I tried Konqueror 4.12.5 too, and opening the page takes less than a second (then it displays "Page loaded" in the corner).

As all browsers take a long time to load that page on your computer, I assume that this problem is not Firefox specific but a problem with your computer. Hence closing this ticket - feel free to ask on http://support.mozilla.org/

are you sure that all my pc have problems and the pc of my friends too and the pc of the moderators of mozilla? as you know well before I open a new bug here I ask them to verify!
there are other dev on bugzilla which may want to try my link?
thanks.
(In reply to banakon from comment #10)
> and the pc of my friends too

No idea what you talk about. If it's relevant you could have mentioned it earlier.

> and the pc of the moderators of mozilla?

Whatever "the moderators of mozilla" are, what do you actually want to express by that line?
If "the moderators of mozilla" have seen the same problem, provide a link to where "the moderators of mozilla" say so.
> before I open a new bug here I ask them to verify!

You already DID open a new bug (bug 1018695) without "asking them to verify" something, whatever that is.
I mentioned it in commnet #1, that you did not read!

I have toask to the moderator if I can link his private message.
In the meantime I wait if there are some Mozilla dev which use/are able to verify with Windows, because there are some users in the world whcih use FF on Windoes (its strange, but that is).
as said, I will continue opening new bug until I become a seriou reply.
Now I open another.
I have no idea what you already mentioned in comment 1. Comment 1 says "(this happens with Linux too!)" and comment 12 refers to other aspects.

If you are after creating more work for everybody by creating duplicates in order to get the level of attention that you expect, I am going to ask administrators to block you as you intentionally waste time of people. I've asked you several times now to not file duplicates, and you seem to ignore that request.
please let me know when I can stop opening duplicates, i.e. whe you verify my bug. thanks.
Other wise ask to other dev to reply to my bug. thanks.
I repeat,
am I allowed to stop posting duplicates?
in other words,
sinnce totold that you dont have windows, there are devs which use windows and can verify?
Another purpose:
I could stop with the duplicates when I see other mail in the mailing list. let me know what to do, in the meantime I stop adding duplicate. thanks.
I've explained in comment 9 the reasons why I closed this ticket as WORKSFORME.
You've said that the same problem happens with a different operating system and even with different browsers, so it's unlikely that making another person test on Windows will show any different results.

You've ignored my comment explaining how to get support, and the behavior you show is distructive enough that I don't expect anybody interested in spending more time to help you.
perhaps I have to continue with the duplicate, ok
please let the dev to decide if they want or dont want, why do you establish for other dev too?
beforse youinvite other dev, then will we see if all of them will refuse to help.
What do you want to achieve? Threaten me and the community of triagers and developers by making us waste time? Do you think that's the right way to get attention that will help you fixing the problems that you face with Firefox? Seriously?
you refuse to help, dont othr (until now) so I guess that you have enough time to waste with my duplicates, ok?
I want to achieve this:
that the dev verify this issue, and, since if happens on other machines too, and I have verufyed BEFORE opening this bug (If its a issue my my pc only),

yes, in a while I send you a link where you can see how the dev take seriously he issues,
Please read comment 9 again, so many times until you have understood it.

I've explained why the behavior that you report is likely not a software bug, and that's why it does not belong here in Bugzilla. If you have CLEAR indication that I'm wrong, say so and bring it up.
here!!
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1015579

now I can understand how and why I threate the dev:

iF the dev like, then ok, if the dev doesnt like (i repeat LIKE), then close.
seriouly??????????????
I just added before a link, please read it!
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1018625#c55

this means that all the machines are broken with this page? desktop, laptop...only your machine is able toopen the page without freeze?
therefore I asked to other dev: the more, the better.
then if you are saying that all my machines are broken with this url and all mozilla people is able to open the page, then ok, I will purchase a new desktop and a new laptop, but if the issue still persist you should to pay them ok?
hi, now I send to you a PM with the "moderator" reply as private message.
even he has to purchase newer machines to open this page?
so, I wait if some other dev will take my bug seriously.
I sent to you the screenshot.
Please, banning me is NOT the solution ;)
Here, I will satisfy your desire for a second person to confirm.

This bug, while initially correct, is not verifiable. The page can cause slower systems to freeze due to the way it is produced, not the way a browser presents it. On OS X, I can confirm the page loads slowly in Firefox, but also in Chrome, Safari and Opera.

Please stop spamming the dupes. That page is simply too much for most machines, Mozilla can't change that. I'm sure the developers of that page would love to be informed, though, you should look into that.
Hi, this is the first intelligent reply that I become. I warmly thank you.
thanks for your feedback and for saying that I was initially correct.
Unfortunately Herr Klapper think that (#2):
if on my pc I did not notice the freeze, all users in the world should not notice the freeze.

I am happy to find more intelligent men.
But Herr Klapper prefers to employ his time deleting the duplicates instead of posting a reply like yours.
if this is professional behaviour...
and out-of-curiosity the problems arise always with Herrn Klapper, not with others (why?).
You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
