We have different status bar depending on if the user is seeing the homescreen (semi-transparent) or other apps (black). I am not an expert and my taste for this kind of things is not very good :) But it seems that we should have some color that fits in both cases thought as Gregor explains in the bug

It changes the color once I pull down the settings tray and move it up again.

Hi,

This screen shouldn't happen because that status bar transparency of 15% is specified for the new vertical homescreen only.  We aren't shipping classic, which is what is shown in the screenshot, but it also be following the spec for classic in this case, which has a more opaque/darker status bar.
