Hasn't taken a job for a day and a half. Given the timing, I suspect it of being another case of the bug 1019523/bug 986599 json_pure thing.

hi philor, I suspected that too (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=986599#c37) but in this case the trick was not enough to bring the box back to work. I'll have a look to the box to see what's wrong.

It seems to me that puppet is not running correctly. from syslog (after a reboot): Wed Jun 4 00:21:11 talos-r4-snow-130 puppet-agent[2581] <Notice>: (/Stage\[main\]/Screenresolution/Exec\[set-resolution\]/returns) 2014-06-04 00:21:11.188 screenresolution\[3127:903\] Error: mode 1600x1200x32 not available on display 0 Wed Jun 4 00:21:11 talos-r4-snow-130 puppet-agent[2581] <Error>: /usr/local/bin/screenresolution set 1600x1200x32 returned 1 instead of one of \[0\] Wed Jun 4 00:21:11 talos-r4-snow-130 puppet-agent[2581] <Error>: (/Stage\[main\]/Screenresolution/Exec\[set-resolution\]/returns) change from notrun to 0 failed: /usr/local/bin/screenresolution set 1600x1200x32 returned 1 instead of one of \[0\] This looks similar to what happened here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=723700#c5, where a re-imaging and a check on the graphics dongle was requested.
