User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140506152807 Steps to reproduce: When pasting images from your clipboard into Gmail using Firefox, it shows up as text base64. Many of us at work would rather use Firefox as our primary browser, but we frequently have numerous emails with screenshots of various things, and it forces us to use Chrome. Fix this, and I'll spread the word in the office... there would be many happy people about that. :) I'm running Windows 7 Professional (x64) and Firefox 29.0.1. However, I've seen this issue for a few months at least when I was running older versions of Firefox. I don't recall if it was an issue before because I was using Outlook as my primary email client. Actual results: If you paste any image from your clipboard into the body of an email when using Gmail from Firefox, when you open the sent email you see the text content of the image as Base64, and not the image. Expected results: I was expecting to see the image in the email I sent, and not the Base64 text.

Whiteboard: Pasting from Clipboard into Gmail using Firefox sends base64 text as part of email to recipients.
This is WFM against Firefox 29 and Trunk on Windows 7 if I use "Print" key to take a screenshot and pasting into GMail's compose overlay. What is the source of the image copy before clipboard?

Hi! Thanks for getting back to me on this... I can reproduce the issue the same way when the image source comes from pretty much any image source I could place onto the clipboard. I just verified this behavior in the following four ways: 1) Alt+PrintScreen where any window was highlighted as active 2) Using just PrintScreen 3) Opening a picture in Irfanview, and then when the window is clicked on (in-focus), select (CTRL+A), copy (CTRL+C), and paste (CTRL+V) into the gmail window 4) opening a Windows Powerpoint file (PPTX), placing an clipart icon (smiley face) and writing some text into a slide... then on the slide: select (CTRL+A), copy (CTRL+C), paste (CTRL+V) into the gmail new email composition window. (Note, I'm using Ms Office 2013) Note, in cases 1 through 3, the email shows up as Base64 text... in case 4 nothing shows up. In all 4 cases I checked and it does work from Chrome. Hopefully that helps! If there is any other information I can provide, please let me know. Best regards, Mark
