Bug 995797 - Possible improvement in the text of the headers of reply in the emails - changed name and semantics of the mailnews.reply_header_* preferences substantially. Since the Help content for the Mail & News > Composition preference pane explicitly references those, it will need to be adjusted.
Given that there is no migration code from the old to the new prefs (that's bug 1009585), users who customized the reply header by changing those prefs will loose that customization after updating to 2.28; the first reaction may be to look into the Composition preference if anything changed there (no, it didn't), then hopefully find the "Help" button where we'd have to explain how it works now.
The change is actually quite beneficial and makes this section much less complicated. Rather than stitching the reply header from various preferences, there is now one dedicated pref for each of the "type" settings, using placeholders (#1, #2, #3) for author, date, and time.
Never mind, that's stupid - I was looking at an old build... :-(
In fact, the patch for bug 995797 contained Help updates already.
So, nothing to do here, sorry for the noise.
