Steps to reproduce:

When I originally setup my contacts I did not enter a country code for each contact. An example phone number for a contact would be 3108531212. 


Actual results:

I received a phone call from 13108531212. The incoming call isn't recognized and associated with the stored contact information for 3108531212. The name isn't displayed so the number appears as if it's an unknown caller.


Expected results:

When the country code is missing from the phone number of a stored contact, and a call which includes the country code for the same contact is received, Firefox-OS should associate the incoming call with the stored contact information.

I've seen variants of this as well.  What's particularly weird is that the behavior varies across apps.

I have a contact, lets call him Bob, whose phone number in my contacts is [phone].  When he calls me it shows in the dialer as 11234567890 and the caller is unrecognized.  But when I receive an SMS from him it is matched to the contact.

What's really weird is that if I go create another contact, Fake Bob, whose phone number is 1234567890 (no +1), the dialer now matches that contact, but so does the SMS app.  That is, the SMS app can find the contact with the country code but prefers not to, whereas the dialer can't find it at all.

So from testing a little more, in the contacts app:

[phone]
123-456-7890
1234567890
[phone]

are all recognized as the same number.

But [phone] is not.

And the Facebook importer imports numbers with country codes and no delimiters.
