I messaged @mardi (Mardi Douglass) and used a colloquial term and it says I spammed and has banned me from all Mozilla IRC. Not good!
I was banned too (as was mconley). I didn't say anything nasty thought. :) Moving this to the right product.

Apparently a huge number of usernames / IP addresses were banned, all of a sudden, for no obvious reason.

I saw IRC messages go by for ~25 users being banned "for spamming", and then I was disconnected & am unable to reconnect because "(User has been banned from Mozilla (no spamming here))"

Seems to have been fixed. (At least, I can reconnect now.)

I was also messaging Mardi Douglass at the time, if that helps diagnose what went wrong.

(I was not, FWIW.)
Ms2ger says this was from a typo'd regular expression. (intended to ban an actual spammer, but it caught a bunch of legitimate people accidentally.)
I'm still locked out. ;-)

Nevermind, it looks like I'm fixed now. Either someone just fixed this or forcing a /reconnect via IRCCloud and not just a reload of the web app did the right thing.
