User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20131112160018

Steps to reproduce:

paste an object (plain text, formatted text, image, etc) into existing composition of message body (but not quoted reply).
This bug has been there for years now.

Actual results:

text_to_be_pasted

a
and

and
are added to the text being pasted causing a new line to be inserted incorrectly.

Expected results:

Pasted text should be added at the point of insertion, without adding a newline or HTML formatting unless that was a part of what was being pasted. Each pasted element has to have the newline removed manually to get the proper formatting. User should be able to paste any word or phrase into the body of the email without having an additional line added to the standing text.
John, were you using beta or earlybird at the time you created this bug report?

Absolutely not. As I said in the report, this problem has been in Thunderbird for years and many releases. Are you telling me you did what I said to reproduce it and didn't see this? I've seen this on all Windows versions (not tried on Vista) and at least 7 platforms for years now. It's a big irritation. It's doing it right now on v31.3.0, Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601], Toshiba Satellite (this machine)

I'm not saying anything about my own usage. I'm asking about yours because at the time you filed the bug report you were using a rather old version of Firefox, which might also have been a beta.
