In bug 695671 I introduced some fixes for FilterAfterTheFact, and included a unit test of the code. The unit test is really designed to just exercise FilterAfterTheFact, and is unrelated to the focus of that bug. So I'll split off the test from that bug, update it, and discuss it here.
