I can reproduce this on <https://hacks.mozilla.org/2014/06/firefox-os-apps-run-on-android/> pretty well by hovering a link and then moving the mouse away. The dimmed version of the status bar stays at different opacity levels every time, so sometimes it's hardly noticeable.

Looks like the opacity transition halted halfway through. This doesn't seem like a front-end issue to me.
