There are many en-US pages missing in many other locales, not just sq. That's a side effect of the long process of rebuilding a multi-language www.mozilla.org, where different pages and different locales are prioritized differently.

I know what the situation is, but considering we have a Firefox OS launch for Albania in queue, I'd consider this a priority. I know we cannot expect this on default, that's why I went for it and opened this bug also.

I am going to mark that bug as New since there are apparently plans to ship in Albania in the short / middle term. Elio, Besnik, would you agree to work on this page together? Elio proposed to tranlate it, Besnik you could do the review, what do you think?

I put the files in your repository, you can see them on the dashboard: http://l10n.mozilla-community.org/webdashboard/?locale=sq One process that could work for you guys is the one that the French team uses for collaborative translation, we just put the content of the file in an etherpad and work together on the strings (ex: https://frenchmoz.etherpad.mozilla.org/australis). Another way to process is what the Dutch and German team do, one person translates the file and attach it to the bug and the other person does a review of the file per string using Bugzilla built in patch review features. Those are suggestions of course, you can choose another process :)

Thank you Pascal! I started translating and imported the file into a Titan Pad of our community: https://openlabs.titanpad.com/firefoxoslandingpagel10n This should be translated pretty quickly, by end of the month most likely.

Comment on attachment 8450543 [details] [diff] [review] firefoxoslandingpagel10n-latest(1).txt You set review ? and specify a person, not +, which means granted ;-) Also, no actual need for needinfo, since the review request is a needinfo in itself.

I just committed the draft provided. This way you could check how your draft looks, at https://www-dev.allizom.org/sq/firefox/os/ From a quick look I spotted some typos, mixing formal and informal styles, even within the same string, ad litteram translating as well. More on this (a detailed review, case by case,) soon. Not sooner than Monday though.

Here you are the words for which Aspell for sq returns error: adaptueshem, mënjëherë, tëpër, adaptiv, ekzaktësisht, akses, perfekte, tranziti, webit, rradhë, inovacioni, celuar, Celularëe, Some of them are misspelled, some are not part of recognized sq words (adaptiv, perfekte, akses, inovacioni, ekzaktësisht, etc).

To those above I would add: moment, direkt, kreative, lokal, komunitet.

Here's an example of mixed style: "Shkoni atje ku je nisur..." Being the polite form, I'd suggest that plural is used throughout translation.

Here's an example of ad litteram translation: "Ne jemi këtu për të bërë ndryshimin, jo për përfitim. Kur ju zgjidhni Firefox OS, ju jeni duke ndihmuar ndërtimin e një të ardhmeje më të mirë për web-in dhe përdoruesit kudo..." sq doesn't need translating "you" or "we" all the time.

I think "probably" (in "probably pretty far") is mistranslated as "me siguri". In the given context it doesn't harm to much. But it should be noticed, to sharpen translator's eye for details.

I thought that discussion "lundrim" vs "shfletim" has been closed years ago. In any case, my choice here goes to "shfletues" dhe "shfletim", backed by 261,000 occurrences vs 138,000 for "lundrues" found by Google.

Comment on attachment 8450543 [details] [diff] [review] firefoxoslandingpagel10n-latest(1).txt The draft needs fixing and refining. For discussion in Albanian about any issue, please join irc://moznet/mozilla-albania. I'll try to be present as much as can during this week, from 10:00-14:00 (local Albanian time) and late at night.

Hello Besnik, wierd, I havent received emails regarding this bug. You're right regarding the Plural form (polite) I had chosen Plural too, seeing that other localizations including you were sticking with plural. Some seemed to have missed my eye though ( the localization has been worked on by many people). I disagree that "Inovacion" is not a recognized sq word. There is even a Ministry of Innovation "Ministria e Inovacionit dhe Administratës Publike" Yes "me siguri" has been checked by me. I thought it would work in this case, however Im aware of its use. I agree with "shfletim" I will be on IRC this week to discuss, thanks

(In reply to Elio Qoshi [:Elio] from comment #24) > Hello Besnik, wierd, I havent received emails regarding this bug. Check your email program or settings. You're on the CC list of the bug, and that means you're automatically sent everything added here. > > You're right regarding the Plural form (polite) I had chosen Plural too, > seeing that other localizations including you were sticking with plural. It's not us "sticking with plural". It's the form accepted, many years before your birthday, for addressing someone politely. > I disagree that "Inovacion" is not a recognized sq word. There is even a > Ministry of Innovation "Ministria e Inovacionit dhe Administratës Publike" You could check it against the corpus of sq, here: http://fjalori.shkenca.org/ The fact that a governmental body has used it says nothing. It's well known that our governments since 1991 are a joke. So you can't use there actions as a reliable source. The poor fucker who translated the content from English (or any other language) into Albanian proves himself being able of ridiculous errors. Check the site http://www.inovacioni.gov.al/ and you'll be surprised to see that the name of the body is translated with the name used for the chair of the body. Right there, in the logo of the governmental body!!!

Besnik, can we continue work on this? Will you be able to invest some time into the l10n part of this or should we give it a try again? We were quite overwhelmed with some other tasks, due the late reply.

I can't sign off the draft you presented as it is. Been waiting a month for any progress, comments or discussion. None was presented so far. If nobody from your group is willing to address my concerns, I'll attach my version (of the two missing files as well) and wait for any concerns from your group.

Since nobody responded to my invitation (Comment 29) I'm attaching my take for index.html (timestamp 07/07/2014) and the translation for the two other files, devices.lang and faq.lang. I'm also submitting them to SVN repo, so the translation can be seen live. Consider them as draft and submit any feedback here.

Files became obsolete in the meantime, I had to remove obsolete strings and add back new ones in r131887 (also note that I'll add some strings to device.lang in a few hours).

(In reply to Besnik Bleta from comment #35) > Shouldn't http://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~pascalc/langchecker/?locale=sq > help here? Absolutely yes. But to fix it on my side I just need to run a script, on your side you'd need to copy and paste each missing string (and remove the obsolete ones).
