All four, are blank spaces. If you put your mouse over where they should be, you
can click them. But they aren't showing up.
I'm running Red Hat 7.1 Workstation and I downloaded the Mozilla 0.9.4 RPM and
installed it.
I tried re-installing the browser, but with the same results.
Modern or classic theme? (Or both?)
This happens in both. Now I'm also finding some of the sub menu items are also
blank. For instance, to switch to the Modern Theme, I clicked on the blank space
where Edit should be, then I had to guess where the Preferences should be
because that space was blank also.

this also occurs in the email composer as well.
If you start mozilla and mailnews as root just once, then quit, and start as
your own user: Does that change the situation in any way?
I tried to open Mozilla up from within the root account, but it keeps opening
the Mozilla 0.7.1 from the initial RH7.1 install. Even when I navigate into the
usr/local/mozilla directory and type mozilla. It still opens up the 0.7 version.
Can you explain how to get 0.9.4 to open?

Obviously I'm a newbie - but yes I did check to see if this problem was actually
occurring in 0.9.4, and it is.
On Oct. 2. I mailed reporter sample instructions on how to start mozilla.
Reporter: Does the problem occur if you first uninstall "Mozilla 0.7.1" and
delete the entire .mozilla dir before starting (in order to create a new profile)

I got your last reply, but I'm REALLY a Newbie. (sorry) I'm not sure how to
uninstall Mozilla 0.7. I'm also not sure if this will cause any problems. It
took forever to get the mouse wheel to scroll (using RH install phone support)
But that has since expired, so I'm afraid to mess anything up.
But, if you don't think it will cause any problems, I guess I'll give it a try.
Threw you another mail. Never mind uninstalling anything - try what i write there.
That does it!! Sorry to waste your time, on Newbie stupidity rather than a real
bug. When I ran the Profile Manager, created a new profile, then started Mozilla
all the menus were visible.

When I originally downloaded the RPM for Mozilla 0.9.4, I thought by running the
-Uvh command it would upgrade an existing installation. Not add a new
installation. But thanks for your help.

Joel
Thanks for the follow-up.

What you saw is likely caused by having an old profile with references to themes
that are no longer valid. Possible dup of bug 67574 or a newer similar bug
(which i can't find at the moment.) Resolving as WFM. The issue is known.
