I re-installed Sun's JRE 1.3.1, but I still get no Java support; about:plugins does not show Java plugin; with Netscape 4.77 everything is fine.
Did you copy the Java plugin into Mozilla's plugin directory?
Reporter: Have you followed the instructions in the release notes? http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla0.9.4/#java -> OJI

same here, except OS Version: fresh Win2k installation with SP2 and IE6. tested 0.9.4 with JRE 1.3.0.1 and 1.3.1, but Mozilla still displays a message "get tge plugin" when I'm trying to load a java site :-( Well, about 15 minutes ago I've tested Mozilla 0.9.4 with JRE 1.4 BETA2... it's still the same problem :( btw. Opera works fine with alle the JRE's... followed the instructions (?) found at http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla0.9.4/#java
mozillabugs@evilending.de / Reporter: If the automatic copy of the .DLLs fails you can copy the needed .DLLs manually in mozilla's plugin folder. copy C:\programs\javasoft\jre\1.3.1\bin\npoji600.dll in mozilla plugin folder. and it's a known problem that Jre1.4 doesn't work.... (AFAIK)
Thanks for answering :) Now I've copied the npoji600.dll to the mozilla plugin folder, but I still get the about:plugins error/notification... :-( I also checked the versions of other .dll files in the mozilla plugin folger and compared them to existing java .dll files located in $:\program files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1\bin... Although I don't really need java it would be cool to fix this. hope there is a solution for this :)
java works now! deleted all unused files in the plugin folger. Now there are only four files left.. and java works fine! :)
Marking WFM per reporter's comment ("java works now!").
