We've got a request for cron-like functionality to be added to Make This Then That. For example, mailing users a day before or a day after their event happens. We could do something like have an app that can poll our databases for changes, or we could add this functionality to the event-service app as a separate app to run.

I went with the 2nd approach, moving the cron functionality into the events-api. Marking this as a WONTFIX, since the patch is in bug 1010451
