Details
We're now using low resolution tiles on FirefoxOS when we don't have a resolution version when the user is scrolling. Unfortunately, eideticker's entropy detection system is unable to distinguish those from high resolution tiles, so this breaks our ability to detect regressions in scrolling performance.
Jim Chen recommended that we consider switching to a frequency content metric for cases like this in bug 857644, but I haven't had a chance to look into it (the math seems somewhat involved)
According to kats, the gecko pref `layers.low-precision-buffer` (same as on Android) should revert behaviour to use blank colors, which will fix things.
