cannot create sync account with hotmail address

Steps to reproduce:
create sync account.
register with email@hotmail.com
wait for account activation mail.
as a test also created sync account with address from http://10minutemail.com/
this one worked without any issues...
Actual results:
account activation mail never arrives.
Expected results:
account activation mail should have arrived.
I did not have a hotmail account, so I created one.
Signed up for Frefox Sync, checked email at the hotmail account and the verification mail came in an instant.
Verifiaction was succesful and Sync started right away.
I think you may have mis-typed your email address in the Firefox Sync sign up page.
I am using FF 30 on Kubuntu 14.04 64 bit.
