On bug 1021230 I have to move the xorg.conf file entry under the nvidia driver section because it will break boxes run under VMware. There we do not have any nvidia gpu, and using the nvidia driver will stop the X server from starting. 

Best is if we could make it dynamic what has to be put into the config file. The description about sections and entries can be found here:

Our Ubuntu hosts driven by puppet currently fail running Mozmill tests because the resolution is only 800x600. This is most likely due to this issue as described here. I would have to fix it to allow us to switch.

For our tests we are going to utilize TaskCluster in the future. We will try to use the generic docker image for tests. I don't think this bug is important for us anymore. I will leave it open in case you see a benefit, but if not feel free to close it.
