Fails/hangs to write 1) mail in sent folder, 2) move mails between folders, & 3) delete mails. All occurs simultaneously. It gets resolved after restarting thunderbird. Using Thunderbird version 24.6.0 and Ubuntu Linux 14.04 LTS.

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140608211622 Steps to reproduce: Tried searching resolution to the the problem available in Internet. Installed new Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Thunderbird version 24.6.0. Actual results: Problem still persists.
For me, this is usually triggered by the pop-up reminder window appearing (Ubuntu Gnome 14.04.1 and TB 31.1.1) If I ignore the pop-up reminders (often because it's hidden behind other windows), the problem of hanging when copying to Sent folder (or Drafts folder) will appear. When this starts, other functions also no longer work - deleting emails, emptying junk email. As noted in the previous comment, a restart cures it & everything works again. The problem is not cured by emptying the Sent folder, nor by running a repair. The fact that a restart cures it implies that an internal event has taken place which is causing TB to fail in some way. I believe it's connected to the reminder logic.
