User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140616143923 Steps to reproduce: 1. Download a file, select Open and not Save 2. Open a private browsing window 3. Close the private browsing window Actual results: The file you had opened was deleted from disk. Expected results: The file should have remained and should have only been deleted when closing firefox. Closing private windows should only affect files downloaded/open from the private session. Some applications may have unexpected behavior if the file it is viewing is deleted from disk.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0 BuildID: 20160203030249 I failed to reproduce this issue with Nightly. Can you test again with a recent build please. Thanks, Jan
Lastest beta, Version string 45.0b2 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0 navigator.buildID 20160201143558 Just tried this again. Behavior has changed, but still a bit surprising: New STR 1. Download a file, select Open and not Save 2. Open a private browsing window 3. Close the private browsing window 4. Try opening file or navigating to containing folder, both from Panel downloads button UI, and from Show All Downloads/Library view Actual results: The file opened in step 1 is present on disk, but visible and not openable from Downloads UI (neither panel or All downloads window). Additionally: - open containing folder option is greyed out context menu in both panel and window - double click does nothing in both panel and window - no directory/folder button in Panel UI, visible button in Library/All Downloads window is present but doesn't work, does nothing Expected results unknown
Sorry, I failed to reproduce this behaviour in 45.0b2. Can you test again with a clean new profile if you haven't done this already? More information see: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles Also check if this bug persists in Nightly (https://nightly.mozilla.org/) with a clean profile. Thanks for your effort, Jan
Not able to confirm on clean profile as well. Only happened on one profile but persistently. This can be closed then
