User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_9_3) AppleWebKit/537.76.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.0.4 Safari/537.76.4

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open https://support.allizom.org/en-US/questions/new in Safari Version 7.0.4 (9537.76.4)
2. Choose 'Firefox for Desktop' from the menu.
3. Choose any category from the submenu.
4. Enter a question in 'Can't find an answer?' text field (for example: firefox).
5. Press 'Ask this button'.
6. Press 'None of these solve my problem' button at the bottom of the page.
7. Scroll down the page.
8. Find 'Troubleshooting Information' section.
9. Press 'Automatically add' button and pay attention to the format of downloaded file — .xpi.

Actual results:

The file with .xpi is installing only in Firefox, so when trying to install it in Safari button 'Automatically add' turns to grey 'Installing...' button. But actually nothing is happening.

Expected results:

I think there should be a note in Troubleshooting Information for non-Firefox users saying that 'Automatically add' button works only in Firefox.

This is known and done on purpose. We don't want information about another browser when providing support. I think this is a WONTFIX.

I understand your point. But what I was trying to say is that for users this function would look like it simply doesn't work at all if they are posting a question from another browser. In my opinion in this case there can be message saying this function works only in Firefox. Not all users will figure this out.
Hi Ujilia. Thanks for the bug report, I agree with you, this isn't good.

Andrew: This was not done on purpose. The UI assumes Firefox, and is broken when we don't have Firefox. Lying to our users with a broken UI (when the button changes to say "Installing") is not something we would do intentionally. The bug here is not that the data collection does not work, but that the data collection tries to run and fails in other browsers.

I think this should be an easy fix to check our already existing browser detection and hide or disable the addon based extra information on non-Firefox browsers. This sounds like 1 point to me.
