This is unrelated to the vertical homescreen. More likely a gecko bug. Adding qawanted to check 1.4.

I am fairly certain that this is another data point, but still a dupe of bug 1021113.
The problem is on the CNN side, it sets a cookie and redirects the user to this page: http://m.cnn.com/primary/Home?cookieFlag=COOKIE_SET
You can enter that page in a browser, and you will see the same problem. CNN is expecting anyone that visits that URL to have cookies.
