* GOAL: provide some context and inspiring examples for users on the "make your own teaching kit" page
https://webmaker.org/make-your-own

* We now have 3 - 5 exemplary new kits with great content and design. Let's show them off, and provide them as a way for users to more easily grasp the use and value

* While we're at it, we can brush up the copy on that page a bit as well.
* What we'll do:

1) Add a gallery of four teaching kits. Documented here with links provided by Kat.
2) Shorten the explanaroty image. (see mock-up)
3) Update the copy.

It's all here in this mock-up:

Copy:

Make your own teaching kit
<strong>Create your own guide for teaching coding, web literacy or digital skills.</strong> Then share it with our global community.

...or remix someone else’s
Get inspired by examples like these. ([More])

"More" will links to a search page that displays all teaching kits and activities, sorted by likes:
https://webmaker.org/en-US/search/?type=tags&q=teach-kit,teach-activity&sortByField=likes
(note: this link is presently a 404. Cade is working on that in Bug 1030893)

* Kat: can you please provide the links for the four teaching kits you want displayed on this page?

Note that as per my original Github issue http://is.gd/3JmPaL for this mock-up, I also suggest we conglomerate the following URLs to make the user journey more clear:

I also suggest we redirect https://webmaker.org/teach-templates (linked to from main /Explore page, currently goes to a 404 link) AND https://webmaker.org/teach

to

https://webmaker.org/make-your-own

so that make-your-own is the canonical place for both teaching kit templates, and 4 "best of show" kits :) Matt, does this make sense? Let me know if not.

(Here's second part again, without duplication):

Redirect https://webmaker.org/teach-templates (linked to from main /Explore page, currently goes to a 404 link) AND https://webmaker.org/teach

to

https://webmaker.org/make-your-own , so that make-your-own is the canonical place for both teaching kit templates, and 4 "best of show" kits.
* Kat: let's file the re-direct issues separately. And just use this ticket for updating the page. It's simpler.
Flags: needinfo?(matt)
* Aki: could you maybe take this one at some point in the next sprint? Let me know if you have questions about it.

The "Hack Your Notebook Day Teaching Kit" is published privately, so we'll have to pick another.

@aki chad (the publisher) is a good friend of ours, and i think also currently on our payroll, but he's on holiday at the moment. will ask him to republish once he's back in a week or so!

... while we're waiting for Chad's, let's use this one instead:

url: https://laura.makes.org/thimble/privacy-and-security-teaching-kit
description: This kit provides a set of hands-on learning activities that help facilitators teach concepts about online security and privacy.
authors: Laura Hilliger, Dumitru Gherman, Emma Irwin, Ben Moskowitz, Atul Varma, Alina Hua,
Stacy Martin, Matthew Willse, and Shane Caraveo
We will get Chad's when we can, his father died suddenly late last week, we can use Kat's in meantime

This PR needs some help with nav, but since it won't change the nav issue that already exists on prod, I'm just opening another bug for that.

Quick copy editing note: Love how the page is looking, but would be great to make a small copy edit.

On https://webmaker.org/en-US/make-your-own , add an exclamation point (or a full stop, if preferred) to "or, remix someone else's"

[At the moment, looks unfinished without it! Other than that though, great! Also, is there a repo for this page that I can edit in JSON when the exemplary kits need to be switched out?]

Kat: I'm on landing pages full-time for at least the next two weeks, but you can totes do this!
https://github.com/mozilla/webmaker.org/blob/master/locale/en_US/explore.json#L251

Currently the kits can be swapped out by switching the IDs here: https://github.com/mozilla/webmaker.org/blob/master/public/views/make-your-own.html#L71-L78

Awesome, thanks for this Aki!

Have opened up a new bug to handle these edits: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1039002

:)
Two edits made, both now in other bug. Moving there from now on:

EDIT #1: Update explore.json https://github.com/mozilla/webmaker.org/pull/879
EDIT #2: Update make-your-own.html https://github.com/mozilla/webmaker.org/pull/880
