This is a massive paper cut.  While typing in an SMS, the text that I'm inputing sometimes is not rendered--or maybe it's blocked by some UI element rendering on top of it?  I have attached a video that shows what's going on.

Flame device running stock v122 firmware/build

Attachment: video showing hidden text when entering an SMS

The video shows me entering in an SMS.  When it goes to the second line, the letters are hidden.  I appears they are beneath a white box or something.  If I swipe back and forth where the text should be, it eventually appears.

This is v1.3 on a flame device.  Build ID 2014061617114.  It's one of the official images.

I'm quite sure this has been fixed at the gonk level, but I don't know if that's in v1.3... (and I don't find the bug number)

Can you please upgrade to the latest image and check again? Sorry to make you work like this ;)

Hi Julien,

I flashed the v122+fonts OEM image and then used the flash tool to update gecko+gaia from mozilla-aurora yesterday.  So now i'm running 2.0-prerelease.

So far, the text disappearing doesn't happen anymore.  But I noticed that I cannot send any SMS messages with a photo.  I'm willing to close out this bug, but I want to make sure there is a bug covering the failure to send messages with photos.

If you're using ATT, this is probably bug 1040382. It's fixed but not in 2.0 yet.
