Hi Flod,

Please help me set up the file in SVN.

*Project name*: Marketplace L10n Feed
*Locales*:
bg, bn, cs, de, el, es, hr, hu, it, ja, mk, pl, pt-BR, ru, sq, sr, tr, zh-CN

I created the file based on this: https://docs.google.com/a/mozilla.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aru_NzvpgGcgdHRyOE4yQ2t2WTg5VmF1clhrOTVvc2c&usp=drive_web#gid=0.

Please help review the attached file and make necessary corrections.  Once the files are established, I will copy and paste the phrases to the new home.

I realized that we might be able to have some extra strings between locales and en-US, using a specific tag in the locale file ({l10n-extra}). Need to do some testing.

Unfortunately it doesn't work :-\ I'm in the process of rewriting the tool used for checking these files, maybe in the future we can have this feature.

I added all strings to all files, also removed the note at the top: if we expose the strings, better to have them translated, we could reuse them later.

I considered bn as bn-BD, we can't have just bn. Let me know if I should consider it bn-IN instead.

String imported in r129835, probably better to do some spot checks to verify that I didn't mess anything.

One thing unclear: Serbian. Do we need Latin, Cyrillic, or both? For screenshots we wanted only Latin.

Thanks Flod.  Good question/reminder on sr.  Marketplace itself is offered in both, but the blog editor wanted only Latin for the blog website.  Let me check not only Scott, but Havi who coordinates app l10n.

Doesn't look like I will have an answer anytime soon.  Since I already have both scripts in the spreadsheet, let's create both for now.  We can change it later.  Thanks!

Thanks a mil for converting those localized strings to the repo - It would take forever for me to do it one by one, and it is very error prone.  

Ok, including what you already know, this is what I found:
- bn: let's choose bn-BD.  
- es-ES: the first entry is in English
- sr: can we create both?  
- tr: zh-CN is in the file
- zh-CN: it is in English

a few things:
- I need to add "fr" to the list (is this something I can do at SVN side without filing a bug?)
- in checking the "outstanding" strings left untranslated, I thought they should all be "apps for [country]" - there are 31 of these strings, but it turns out, on the top of the list, there are regular strings. 
- The string "Apps for [country]" though localized for that particular country is now in English, except the locales that are 100% complete.

Pinging me in this bug is enough: we need to add the files on SVN but also start tracking the locale in another project.
Added French a few minutes ago.

Let's consider Italian for example

"Shopping" in Italian it's the same as English, it means it needs to be marked as "{ok}" to let the system know it's translated and not a missed string. Localizers will take care of that.

"Top 5 Community Picks" and "Local Community Favorites" are available in the file but there's no translation, so it's normal they're not localized.

When the file starts, strings are always like this

;ORIGINAL
ORIGINAL

This string will be reported as identical (=not translated).

When localizers work on it, it becomes

;ORIGINAL
TRANSLATION

or, if the translation is identical or the original string,

;ORIGINAL
ORIGINAL {ok}

To get only translated strings, you can either use this page

I tried to spot fix some strings, but the Google Docs is completely inconsistent, so scrapping data is reliable only to a certain point.

My suggestion would we to warn localizers about the copy&paste, double check the result and add the missing string.
