Comments:
Currently we have a website running in Amazon EC2 at mozillakerala.org. We wish to move the hosting to a Mozilla supported one. We are looking for a VPS plan as a shared plan wouldn't suffice our needs as the projects we are looking forward to deploy in the space incudes more than the staic website and the wordpress blog.

We'll be running community projects such as Reps Card Generator - http://cards.mozillakerala.org/
Our own bugzilla instance - http://bugzilla.mozillakerala.org/
Wiki - http://wiki.mozillakerala.org/
Microsites for events (such as http://events.mozillakerala.org/meetup2/ and http://html5conf.in)
IRC bots (user 'bot' in #kerala) and other community projects.

About Mozilla Kerala
--------------------------
Mozilla Kerala is a linguistic and regional community of Malayalam Speaking Mozillians.

FB: https://www.facebook.com/mozillakerala /
Blog: http://blog.mozillakerala.org/
Mailing list: https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/community-kerala
Listed in Mozilla Communities: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/contact/communities/kerala/
When I had made the hosting request for the fist time (about an year ago), the existence of the community in Kerala was questioned. Therefore, I would like to provide some evidence of the community and its activities.

Some of the events we did in the past are given below:

* We organized a very successful HTML5 Dev Conf 2014, which was supported by Mozilla Developer Network and was attended by Nick Desaulniers from Mozilla, a developer evangelist from Opera and other firms. The event website is at http://html5conf.in

Some of the photos from the event are at https://plus.google.com/photos/114831280089581546580/albums/6005244536008309553

Some of the other events we organized in the past are:

* MozCoffee - http://events.mozillakerala.org/mozcoffee/
* WebMaker Malabar - http://events.mozillakerala.org/wmm
* Community Meetup 2 - http://events.mozillakerala.org/meetup2
* WoMoz Festival - http://blog.mozillakerala.org/2014/03/womoz-festival/
* Workshop on Free Mobile Platforms - http://blog.mozillakerala.org/2014/03/free-mobile-platforms-ws/
* Firefox OS App Days Kerala - http://rebugged.com/event-report-firefox-os-app-days-kerala/
* App Days Malabar - http://events.mozillakerala.org/app-days-malabar/
* Aaron Swartz Memorial Hacknight - http://blog.mozillakerala.org/2014/01/aaron-swartz-hacknight/

And much and more like these.

A recent event that I'm especially proud of is a two month summer school some of our members organized for children in a couple of orphanages in the state. Around 200 students attended the regular classes for two months and at the end of the event, we were able to spent some left over funds and gave geometry boxes (nothing big, I know) for all the 200 kids who attended.

We have an active facebook group with 600+ members at https://www.facebook.com/groups/MozillaKerala
And an Fb page at https://www.facebook.com/MozillaKerala

Hope the above info helps in the decision making process. I'll glad to provide any additional info requied.

Thanks.
Woo, glad to see how far you guys have come :)

Hello, I was wondering if there is any update on this.

Thanks.
Hi,

Sorry for the delay. It seems you came a long way. Great to see so many events.

It definitely makes sense to cover the hosting. Please Tom go ahead.

As discussed on IRC, we'll take the following action items:

- Transfer mozillakerala.org to mozilla's ownership
- Ask arzhel for a VPS Classic 3
- Issue SSL certs for bugzilla.mozillakerala.org and wiki.mozillakerala.org

Sooo...

@XioNoX, can we get a VPS Classic 3 please? The guys are going to run their Wiki and Bugzilla on there, alongside their IRC bot, the cards generator, and any other cool projects they pick up. They've done some awesome work :)

Sure, can you create an account on ovh.com and give me your username? That way I'll be able to give you admin rights after ordering it.

Thanks!

Hey, I was wondering if there is any update.

Thanks,
Server ordered and credentials sent via email.
Thanks Arzhel, mail received!

Anush tells me that you're taking a break. Would you like me to share the credentials for OVH with him and complete this request with his support?

And, enjoy your break :)

Hey Tad,

Yes, I'm on a break. But I did forward Arzhel's email (sent to me and you) to Anush and two other guys in the community on 3rd August itself. A forwarded mail with the subject "Fwd: [vps86280.ovh.net] Installation de votre VPS" should be in his/their inbox.

But yes, please feel free to share anything with him.

Thanks for reaching out.

Is this request completed?
Flags: needinfo?(saurabh)
Partly. Server has been provisioned and most of the services (website, blog etc) from the old server has been migrated and setup. Bugzilla and Wiki setup are pending (from our end).

Provisioning of SSL certificates are pending from Community IT's end.

Since this request is just for the hosting and that's already done, closing.

For requesting SSL certificates, please fill a new request from: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/form.reps.it

Hey Tad, Anush informed me that the domain transfer didn't go through, which was also an action item. I'll ask him to work on that.
I'll handle that :)
Tad was unable to make progress. Resolving INCOMPLETE, if there's someone that wants to work with us to finish this, please reopen.
