Nightly on desktop switches to double click for links, won't open with single click

Details
I've had this happen several times within the past week where all of a sudden Nightly stops recognizing single clicks for links and only double clicks advance browsing.
Unsure if related, but every time it has been directly after a google search.
Occurs randomly, unsure how to reproduce.

added note: After a certain amount of time - several minutes - it reverts back to allowing single click for interaction.
