User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/35.0.1916.153 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: I first installed via first the Add-ons Manager, and then via the App Manager, FF OS Simulator version 1.3 (stable), and it would not pull up. So, then I'd tried doing so of Simulator 2.0(unstable) via first the Add-ons Manager, which did not work, and then via App Manager, which still did not work. But, I also got an error message about incompatibility and of that FF browser 26+ would be needed. But, still no FF OS Simulator showed. So, I downloaded Firefox, again, the next day, on the library computers, of the same FF browser version, which was the most recent version. And, this time, via App Manager, the Simulator did pull up, but still with that error message. Not sure why. So, I mentioned it in the gaia mailing list and was told to file a bug, and was given the link to where to specifically go to do so. The link to that image is below: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=5d9b0f57d2&view=att&th=146e3b6d951cb998&attid=0.0.1&disp=emb&realattid=ii_146e3b66f37fff2b&zw&atsh=1 https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=5d9b0f57d2&view=att&th=146e3b6d951cb998&attid=0.0.2&disp=emb&realattid=ii_146e3b690f4f3386&zw&atsh=1 Actual results: The simulator (version 1.3(stable)) and 2.0(unstable) didn't pull up at all, despite installation via first, Add-ons Manager, then via App Manager when that didn't work. After installation of the Simulator version 2.0, I'd gotten an error message about incompatibility, but still no Simulator app. But, then the next day on the same library computer, after downloading, again, Firefox browser that the library won't keep on the library computers after each use at the end of the day, the FF OS Simulator pulled up, but , I also got that an error message about incompatibility and that I needed FF browser version 26+. Image link to that image is below: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=5d9b0f57d2&view=att&th=146e3b6d951cb998&attid=0.0.2&disp=emb&realattid=ii_146e3b690f4f3386&zw&atsh=1 Expected results: Both versions should at least have pulled up via the App manager, initially, and without an error message about incompatibility, especially since they were compatible with the most recent version of FF browser (the incompatibility error message should not have showed for any versions used of FF OS Simulator app because all Simulator versions from 1.0 on up are compatible with FF browser 16+, according to Mozilla Add-ons web page (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-os-simulator/versions/) of the FF OS Simulator info.

I have some more questions, as I am still not quite sure what's happening here. Can you attach the 3 additional screenshots to this bug? You attached one screenshot, but then posted internal Gmail links to 3 others, and those links are not viewable by the public (only you can see them when logged into your Gmail account, I believe). What version of Firefox are you using? What version of the Simulator would you like to be using? I think it would simplify this a bit, at least to start, if we focus on one specific version of the Simulator that you'd like to use. The one attached image is from Simulator 1.1, but in the text you mention 1.3 and 2.0. When you start the Simulator via the App Manager, what steps are you using to start it?

J. Ryan Stinnett, That is the odd part about it-that I had ONLY installed first version 1.3 and then version 2.0, no other version, that day. And yet, the next day, I didn't even get a chance to try installing any other version or re-installing those same versions because upon opening the re-installed FF browser version 30.0 that I'd rein-installed, the next day, the FF OS Simulator opened as soon as I had re-installed the App Manager before I could then try to install or re-install any FF OS Simulator version that day. It is odd. But, due to lack of time, I hadn't gotten ability to take screenshots of that FF OS Simulator versions 1.3 and 2.0-only of the version that showed because the other two didn't show, at all, when installed through both Add-ons Manager and the App Manager, unfortunately. The only version that had shown was apparently, 1.1, and I am not sure why if I had not yet installed it right after having re-installed Firefox 30.0 browser to the library computer. It seems perplexing to me. The version I would like to use is the most current one, which, I think is said to be 4.1, but all that showed as available through App Manager was as being up to 2.0, only from where I'd tried getting those Simulator versions ( from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/labs/fxos-simulator/). The addon you are citing as "4.1" is the Firefox OS 1.1 Simulator, version 4.1, from AMO[1]. Each Simulator has two versions: the Firefox OS version it supports (which is in the add-on name), and a real "version", in case updates are made. The add-on version does not necessarily have any relationship to the Firefox OS version contained in the add-on. Simulators for Firefox OS 1.4 and later use the OS version plus a date as the addon version to reduce some of the confusion, such as 1.4.20140506. Firefox OS 1.1 Simulator is the last simulator to include a dashboard, which is screen you are seeing with the compatibility warning. For now, let's focus on the newer simulators, like 2.0. Try removing the 1.1 Simulator add-on from the Add-on Manager. Are you able to use the 2.0 simulator through the App Manager after this? The simulators after 1.1 show up in the App Manager itself. When you say they don't show, do you mean when you press "Start Simulator" in the App Manager, you do not see a button for "Simulator 2.0"? Also, you've mentioned you are doing this on a library computer. Are there any restricted permissions on the machine that might prevent you from installing programs? Have had to be away until recently (have been not well). Anyway, I've not recently had issues with this, so it can be remained closed. I will reopen it, again, if this issue arises, again, for me, in the future. April Morone
