This bug is to explore what can be done and what makes sense for instant search on SUMO. By instant search, we mean querying ES and updating the page with results as the user is typing their query. I think, without having search suggestions implemented yet, we would only be able to query after every word is completed (when the user hits the spacebar). Does that make sense? Willkg said: "my concerns are two-fold: 1. we need to architect this in a way that's fast and light so that if people are typing, we're not hosing our servers. 2. we're on ES 0.90.10. ES 1.0+ may have better API support for this sort of thing." At the end of this bug, it would be nice to have a recommendation on how to move forward and a proof of concept would be awesomesauce.
BTW, we already have a search pseudo-API by adding `&format=json` to the url (for example, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/search?q=woot&format=json). I'm not sure if we could use that or if we need to implement a proper API or just modify that one.
Rehan will be doing this one.
