Hi Cristian, Carmen -

Just wanted to run this by you before moving forward with it. I was investigating positioning of pre-installed grid items, and was having a hard time making progress. It seems things are overly complex than needed, and I think we can simplify them quite a bit. One way to do this would to basically just store the same content that we save to indexedDB in JSON, then import it directly (instead of trying to sort and match to available objects).

Please let me know what you think. If you think this is overly complex for 2.0 and there's a better solution, I'm open to that as well. We are supposed to be off work tomorrow, so if either of you want to steal this before Monday that would be fine by me.

Concept - definition for pre-installed grid items

Nevermind, apparently this is working for other people over OTA updates, but not locally when I build. I'm going to seek out some more info before trying to fix this.

Mass update: Resolve wontfix all issues with legacy homescreens.

As of 2.6 we have a new homescreen and having these issues open is confusing. All issues will block bug 1231115 so we can use that to re-visit any of these if needed.
