(Whiteboard: [training][ttw][july25])

For the Net Neutrality and DRM launch, Dave would like to create a tailored marketing page for the teaching kits/curriculum and a link out to the training content. He wants to be able to feature logos from the other groups that will help us in promotion and distribution.

@Matt - do you think we should do two separate pages?

* Let's do two pages, yes.

* Laura: I have rescoped this to:
Create "Sign up for Net Neutrality training" landing page

* Flagging Cassie for design thoughts here. Let's make sure we get the scope and requirements nailed down properly here. Design resources are very scarce this sprint, so need to be smart about how we scope this.

* Is the number one goal of this page to convert people into sign-ups for the training? Is the mechanism for that having them sign-up with an email address?

* If so, we could use one of our existing landing page templates and just change the copy a bit. For maximum results with minimal effort.

* Laura: does that sound about right?

Summary: Create Net Neutrality and DRM Marketing page → Create "Sign up for Net Neutrality training" landing page
Severity: normal → major
that sounds right. Dave wants to add logos of partner orgs, but otherwise I was thinking something like:

https://webmaker.org/madewithcode-poster

Yes goal is signups for training, but moreover awareness of why it's important (e.g. the training itself). We will have more CTAs around net neutrality while teaching what it means, and then ask folks to spread the word (by throwing a Maker Party). Integrate all the things :)

Thanks Laura.

* The main CTA here thusfar is:
1) Sign up for training about net neutrality. To light up knowledgable activists on the issue, as part of Mozilla's larger global web literacy campaign.

I'm wondering if we should also be considering additional CTAs. like:

2) Take action. Tell the FCC you support Net Neutrality. https://dearfcc.org/

3) Learn more about Mozilla's solution. Learn more about Mozilla's proposal to protect Net Neutrality. https://blog.mozilla.org/netpolicy/2014/07/15/mozilla-submits-comments-on-fcc-net-neutrality-proposal/

Packaging all three of these together in one landing page might:

* get more traction and attention, thereby boosting training sign-ups, and
* help us situate this training within Mozilla's broader effort on the issue

Dave: what do you think?
Flags: needinfo?(daves)
Or:

1) Tell the FCC to protect Net Neturality
https://sendto.mozilla.org/page/s/protect-net-neutrality

2) Teach others about how important NN and the Open Internet is.

Nice - great to see this happening. I would add a third CTA for the "teach" minded [note: kit in prog]:

3) Help your learners analyze, create and take action around Net Neutrality in a variety of settings with this teaching kit: https://keyboardkat.makes.org/thimble/LTQzNjIwNzM2MA==/net-neutrality-teaching-kit
* Ok, Dave just set me straight. :)

* We should leave out the petition ask, and just focus this on signing up for training. Simple.

* Given that, I think this lading page template will work best:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/spa/6c38yp3crbxni5b/59jrfokd.png

* What we'll need next is copy to flow into that template.

* It could look something like this:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/spa/6c38yp3crbxni5b/pwmtlgy-.png
(this copy sucks -- placeholder only)
* Laura or Dave: can you take a pass at writing first draft copy that could fill into that template?
Could also be something like:
"Stand Up for Net Neutrality: Teach others about it"
Looks good to me Matt!

this first draft exists: https://teach.etherpad.mozilla.org/nn-campaign-page

and there's a draft blog post in bug 1033296 that depends on this page (I think)
also - who's building this in? Can you do Matt?
Flags: needinfo?(matt)
* Aki is our landing page ninja, and will build this for us. BUT: she's got high-priority snippet landing page work that's blocking this.

* Laura: do you have a page you're able to use for sign-ups right now? (e.g., the existing training sign-up page?)
* put another way: Is this a blocker? Or just an optimization we can add later when it's ready?

* Another question: can this Net Neutrality training offering be evergreen? e.g., Can we continue to drive sign-ups into it all summer / Sep? Or only this one window?

This is designed to be a book-ended one week experience. And I think its key to have the landing page. I'd rather delay the launch of the MOOC a week to have this line up properly.

Laura/Michelle does delaying a week so we have the proper landing page/CTA flow upset anything on your end?
We've pushed the date back a week. And no, this page isn't a blocker, we can send people to the generic training signup right away.

The NN Training is designed to have facilitation during the week of launch, but we can run it again whenever we want - this kind of experience is all what participants make of it, so it *could* be evergreen

* Ok, thanks guys
* Aki: given that you're busy on funnnel landing pages, is there someone else on the team you think could take this on today / tomorrow?

Would really prefer the landing page as main portal for sign-ups. If catch others with some promo now with generic page, fine. But if we have landing page for a solid week I think it helps in many ways.
