From Colin at Hive Toronto:

I recently posted an event and included an RSVP link to register through our Eventbrite page. Was happy to see this external RSVP field included in the event template!

However, the published event does not include any link to the eventbrite page. I'm not quite sure why the external RSVP field is not displaying in the published post.

Event found here: https://events.webmaker.org/#!/events/3632

Thanks for your help in advance

* This is an interesting use case:

Event host *does not want to use* Webmaker RSVP functionality.
Instead they want to use a third-party event service for RSVP. In this case, Event Brite.

How should we support that?

Summary: RSVP link doesn't show on template → Event host wants to link to third-party service for RSVP
* Potential quick fix: allow users to include link-text in their event description.
So that they can link to a third-party event service or page like Eventbrite
Agreed, Matt – we should allow links in that main body text area until we have bandwidth to make the RSVP functionality optional.

Hey Lucy -- the link text *is* actually displaying here:
https://events.webmaker.org/#!/events/3632

* There's a field in the event creation process that we need to remove -- we'll file a bug to do that for the [july25] cycle. Thanks for filing this. Helpful.
