1037117 - implement a frecency algorithm for contacts sorting

We need an algorithm to sort contacts, that takes into account both how much frequently the user interacts with another user, and how much time ago, so that contacts I stop talking with, will slowly move down the list.
Both the default list and the search results should obey this sorting.

This would be great to have in the first release of FxA & contacts, but it's not a blocker.

it was not a typo, it's really "frecency" (that is merge between frequency and recency). frecency is some sort of algorithm that puts those together, so something used very often in the past may have a lower score than something used less often but very recently.

I don't remember suggesting that myself or other people should have worked on this bug for any particular release, on the other hand I said that there was no need to work on this bug to implement an initial version of the Contacts search box.

I don't have any plans to work on frecency algorithm for contacts sorting.

Seems like not the highest priority bug at the moment.

We are currently reworking the Loop "user journey" (bug 1209713) and as part of this direct calls and contacts are being removed. Therefore closing contact related bugs as wontfix.
